Chance for charities to get a late delivery from Santa

Chocolate donation to Charity

Charities from across the Bristol region that would like to benefit from a trolley load of Christmas chocolate are invited to get in touch with British Corner Shop this month (February, 2011).

British Corner Shop occasionally has excess stock, and we have several hundreds of pounds worth of Christmas chocolate that we would like to give to worthy causes to help with their 2011 fundraising efforts.

Managing Director, Mark Callaghan explained: "We have approximately three ordinary sized supermarket trollies full of left over Christmas stock that are well within their use by dates. We have items such as selection boxes, Lindt reindeer and gold and silver chocolate coins.

"We would like to donate these products to charities in the area so they can use them for raffle prizes or generally to help with their fundraising efforts this year.

"They are welcome to have a few items or a trolley full. They might want some items to sell in their charity shops if they have them. We're open to any suggestions on how the products might be best used."

Charitable organisations that would like to be considered to receive some of the items up for grabs should email customerservices@britishcornershop.co.uk.

Mark added: "We want charities to email in to explain why they would like the chocolate products, what they would do with them and how that would benefit the organisation. We don't want people to email very long letters. No more than 100 words would be fine, and bullet points are even better.

"The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Friday, March 11, 2011. British Corner Shop will draw entries randomly out of a shopping basket to find out which charities will receive the goodies."
