MumAbroad Family Guides for Spain and France

MumAbroad Spain and MumAbroad France are invaluable resources for expat families living in, relocating to or holidaying in Spain and France being the only English language websites whose content has been solely recommended by resident Mums and Dads.

MumAbroad Spain and MumAbroad France were founded by Marketing Director Rebecca Laidlaw and Journalist Carrie Frais. Both British and living in Barcelona, they discovered that, on having children, there was a lack of reliable information for expat parents on the likes of education and children's activities.

MumAbroad Spain was launched in 2008 and MumAbroad France followed two years later. Both sites offer recommendations for childcare and schooling, pregnancy and birth, family activities and day-trips, child-friendly restaurants, children's shops, children's services and family holidays.

Both sites offer a range of interviews with resident mums about the pros and cons of being an expat parent in France and Spain, as well as interviews with childhood experts such as Paediatricians, Nutritionists, Educational Psychologists and Alternative Practicioners.

MumAbroad Spain and MumAbroad France both offer interactive forums where parents can ask for advice, offer recommendations, buy and sell items and post adverts. The forums have provided an active online expat community via which many mums have made friends and contacts within their area.

MumAbroad Spain currently offers information and recommendations in the following areas: Catalunya (including Barcelona and the Costa Brava), Madrid, the Balearics (including Mallorca), Andalucia (including the Costa del Sol) and the Costa Blanca.

MumAbroad France currently offers information and recommendations in the following areas: Paris, the Dordogne, The French Riviera (including Nice), Rennes and surrounds, Montpelier, Toulouse, La Vienne and La Mayenne. It is soon to incorporate Aix-en-Provence.

MumAbroad Italy is currently in development, with recommendations for expat parents living in Rome, Milan, Florence, Venice, Genoa and Naples.

MumAbroad Property was launched in 2010 and offers family properties to buy and rent using a selection of hand-picked English-speaking agents in Barcelona, the Costa Brava, Sitges, Madrid, the Costa del Sol, Javea, Torrevieja, Alicante and Mallorca.
