Royal Wedding Cake

With Royal Wedding fever gripping Britain, this alternative wedding cake is based on the Royal Family's secret recipe from which McVitie's has been asked to create the Prince's informal cake.

Perfect for street parties, this cake will add a sweet beginning to the wedding of the decade.

Serves 6 people.

  • 125g of Unsalted Butter

Method

Gently melt the butter, golden syrup and dark chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.

Put the biscuits in a freezer bag and crush well using a rolling pin.

Cut the cherries in half and the bounty bar into small cubes.

Combine all the ingredients together including the cocoa powder and pack into a 20cm victoria sponge tin lined with cling film.

Chill for 3 hours.

Then melt the white chocolate and drizzle over the cake.

Finally, cut into 6 wedges using a warm knife and serve.
